Our training centre, located in Tibshelf, Derbyshire, near Alftreton and Sutton in Ashfield or Mansfield, Nottinghamshire is 5 miles off J28 of the M1, 6 miles from J29 of the M1 and 4.5 miles from the A38.

We offer a range of training courses including; Driver CPC, Transport Manager CPC, First Aid and ADR training.

We have free off road parking and adjacent uncontrolled or unrestricted on road parking. Facilities include a spacious, modern and well equipped training room, with Wifi, a well stocked kitchen, toilets and a reception.

Within easy reach is a local Coop store, petrol station and smaller shops.

Driver CPC Training.

The Driver Certificate of Professional Competence - (DCPC) has been introduced to the UK through EU Directive 2009/59. It is a new qualification that all lorry, coach and bus drivers will need if they wish to drive professionally for a living. It has been introduced to improve the skills and knowledge of professional drivers.

  • Recognising, underpinning and developing the knowledge and skills that are needed for a professional driver to undertake his / her duties.
  • Keeping drivers up to date with new legislation applicable to them (i.e. drivers’ hours, digital tachographs etc).
  • Raising the profile and professionalism of drivers and the transport industry.

PJT are an approved Driver CPC Training Centre, delivering a variety of programs which are fully compliant with DVSA (Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency) and the requirement to qualify LGV drivers with their 35 hours of Periodic training…

TM CPC Refresher 2 day Course.

Transport Managers (TMs) should possess high-quality, professional knowledge in order to do their jobs effectively.

It is expected by The Traffic Commissioner, that a minimum two day CPC Refresher course is taken every 5 years - if;

  • You have not acted as a TM for 5 years.
  • Your CPC qualification is over 10 years old.

A recent press release from the office of The Traffic Commissioner, supported this view. In their view, it is imperative that Transport Managers undertake regular “continual professional development” (CPD) to enable them to carry out their role effectively.

That said, and although there is no set frequency for this CPD. It is expected by The Traffic Commissioner, that a minimum two day CPC Refresher course is taken every 5 years.
